Terms & Conditions

Last updated: April 23, 2026

Your files, your rights

You retain every right to every file you process with DukPdf. We don't claim ownership of your content, we don't analyse it, and we never see it in the first place — file processing happens on your device, not ours.

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of DukPdf's website and web app (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

DukPdf is currently operated by an independent developer. References to “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to that operator. These Terms will be updated if DukPdf becomes a registered legal entity.

2. The service

DukPdf provides 25+ tools for working with PDF files — merging, splitting, compressing, converting, signing, redacting, and more. The Service is free to use during our soft launch, with no paid plans today.

All file processing happens on your device, in your browser, using WebAssembly. Our servers do not receive, process, or store your file content. See our Privacy Policy and Security pages for details.

3. Accounts

Most tools work without an account. Creating an account is only needed for a few account-specific features (like saving preferences). You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current information when creating your account.
  • Keep your password confidential and notify us of any unauthorised access.
  • Be responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
  • Use one account per person — accounts are not transferable.

You may delete your account at any time by emailing tstym@dukpdf.com.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to process content that is illegal in your jurisdiction or infringes someone else's rights.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service, except where such restrictions are prohibited by law.
  • Use the Service, its outputs, or any scraped content to train machine-learning models without our prior written permission.
  • Circumvent rate limits, share a single account across multiple people, or automate abuse of the Service.
  • Probe, scan, or attempt to breach the security of the Service.

5. Your content

You retain all rights to every file you process with DukPdf. We do not claim ownership, and we do not access, copy, or analyse your files. Processing happens on your device — we couldn't see your files even if we wanted to.

You are responsible for having the legal right to process any file you use with the Service. DukPdf is a tool; responsibility for the content sits with you.

6. Usage limits

DukPdf applies per-tool limits so the browser can keep up with large or complex files. These are file-based — there are no hourly or daily usage caps during our soft launch.

  • Per-file size limits. Each tool has a maximum size per file and a combined total. These are shown on the tool's upload area.
  • Per-file page counts. Some tools cap the number of pages per file, for the same performance reasons.
  • Files per batch. Most tools accept up to a small number of files at once. See the upload area for each tool's exact count.

These limits may change as we optimise the tools. Any material change will be reflected on the tool pages themselves. DukPdf may also introduce paid plans in the future for higher limits or advanced features — if and when that happens, these Terms will be updated with billing, refund, and cancellation details, and current users will be notified before anything changes for them.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its code, design, brand, and trademarks, is owned by the operator of DukPdf. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks or branding except as needed to use the Service.

Your files and any content you create using the Service remain entirely yours.

8. Third-party services

We integrate a small number of third-party services — an analytics provider (anonymous usage data) and an email provider (transactional email). Their terms and privacy policies apply to their parts of the Service. We never share your file data with any of them, because we don't have it.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We make reasonable efforts to keep the Service available and working correctly, but we don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

You are responsible for backing up your original files. We recommend keeping a copy of any important file before running it through any PDF tool — ours or anyone else's.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DukPdf's total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, if any, or (b) USD 100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of goodwill.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, with reasonable notice except in cases of serious abuse or legal necessity.

On termination, sections that should survive — intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — remain in effect.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll notify account holders by email and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

DukPdf is currently operated by an independent developer and is not yet incorporated as a legal entity. Specific governing-law and jurisdiction clauses will be added to these Terms once DukPdf is registered as a company — we'll notify account holders when that happens.

In the meantime, we commit to resolving any dispute in good faith through direct communication. If something goes wrong, your first step is to email tstym@dukpdf.com — we read every message and will work with you to put it right.

Nothing in this section affects statutory consumer rights in your country, which apply regardless of where we're based.
